So, this is my first foray into blogging.  I read a lot of blogs, sometimes comment on them but decided to make a fitness focused one of my own.  Here’s why…  I lost a lot of weight over the last few years.  Like 70 Lbs to date.  I also got into really good shape.  Much better than most of my peers.  Anyone who has known or met me in the last ten years is generally stunned when they see me now and can’t believe the transformation.  So, I get asked a lot – ‘How did you do it?’

Well, like many things, it’s not any one thing and the answer is not easy.  So, this website is going to serve as a way for me to educate others about what it is that worked for me, chronically my fitness journey, and provide a catalogue of links to things that interest me on fitness, racing and whatever.

So why Mud Fitness?  Well, it was OCR racing that finally got me to really take my fitness seriously and get my sorry ass into shape.

I remember it like it was yesterday.  I saw a headline in a real paper newspaper and the picture featured a guy carrying a huge log on his back down a city street.  I read the article and the guy was training for a Tough Mudder race which was a new thing at the time.  I thought to myself, ‘That’s nuts, and I love it!’

Signed up for a race with a few buddies the next year and then had to whip myself into shape to be able to do it.  The rest is history.
